On the night of Thursday, March 21, 3900 bottles of champagne, the equivalent of eight and a half pallets were stolen from Jacques Selosse estate (in Avize, Champagne). A group has apparently knowledgeable broke into the old cellars and wineries of the estate, forcing a door with a crowbar.
The damage is estimated at around 400 000 Euros and 16 000 labels and 12 000 collars were also stolen.
Anselme Selosse is eager to avoid the secondary market. The pallets were stolen for export (USA and Japan)
FYI : Jacques Selosse uses a black glass instead of a typical glass of Champagne.
